Terms of Service

Last updated 3 September 2026

Stake a country and your product sits on it while your stake is the largest. That is an advertising placement on a picture of a globe — not a claim to any country, and not property. Stakes are not refunded, listings must be for products you actually run, and we can remove anything that breaks the rules.

1. The agreement

These terms are a contract between you and saasworldmap.com covering saasworldmap.com, its API and everything on it. Using the site means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use it.

If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you are confirming that you may bind it, and "you" then means that company.

2. What this actually is

saasworldmap.com is a novelty advertising board drawn on a globe. Products place stakes on countries; whoever holds the largest total stake on a country is shown as leading it, until somebody else stakes more.

To say it plainly, because the metaphor invites confusion — staking a country gives you:

  • a label on that country on this website, for as long as your stake leads
  • a place in the panel for that country, and in our leaderboard and activity feed

It gives you no rights of any kind to a country, a territory, a government, a flag, a trademark, a domain name, or anything at all outside this website. Nothing here is an investment, a security, or a transferable asset, and nothing on the map is an endorsement by any nation or authority.

3. The current state of things

The site is a prototype. Parts of the map are seeded with placeholder products so it does not look empty, no stake is charged today, and features can change or disappear without notice. Treat anything you see as provisional until we say otherwise.

4. Your account

  • sign in with a Google account whose name and email address are really yours, and keep them current
  • sign in with Google, and keep that Google account secure — it is the only key to yours
  • you are responsible for everything done through your account — tell us at once if you think someone else is using it
  • one account per person or company, unless we agree otherwise
  • you must be 16 or older, and not barred from using the service under any law that applies to you

5. Listing a product

By listing a product you confirm that you own it or are authorised to represent it, and that its name, logo, domain and description are yours to use.

Accounts may list a limited number of products at once — five by default. We may raise or lower that limit.

Do not list a product that:

  • is illegal where it is offered, or facilitates something that is
  • contains malware, spyware, or anything that deceives the people who install it
  • impersonates another product, brand or person, or infringes anyone’s intellectual property
  • is adult content, gambling, or a scheme built on recruiting other people
  • is hateful, harassing, or promotes violence
  • does not exist, or exists only to occupy space on the map

6. Stakes, ranking and money

  • Rank is the total — the product with the highest cumulative stake on a country leads it. Ties are broken by whoever got there first.
  • Topping up adds — a further stake on a country you already hold raises your existing stake rather than creating a second one.
  • Nothing is refunded — a stake buys placement while it leads, and being outbid is the game working as intended, not a fault. Stake what the exposure is worth to you.
  • Prices can move — we set the floor price for each country, may put countries on sale, and may close a country to new stakes. Existing stakes keep rendering when a country is closed.
  • Placement is not guaranteed — we may remove a stake, or a whole listing, where these terms are broken. Where the removal is our doing and not yours, we will refund the stake at our discretion.

If and when charging begins, prices are in US dollars, exclusive of any tax you owe, and payment will be handled by a third-party provider under its own terms. We will publish those details before taking any money.

7. Using the site

Do not:

  • break, probe or work around our rate limits, authentication or any other security control
  • scrape the site beyond ordinary use of the public API, or resell its data as your own
  • automate stakes, or coordinate accounts, to manipulate the leaderboard
  • upload anything designed to damage the site or the people using it
  • use the map to mislead people about who runs a product, or where it comes from

8. What you let us show

You keep every right you have in your product, your brand and your logo. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display the name, logo, domain, tagline and category you submit — on the map, in the leaderboard and activity feed, in the API, and in reasonable promotion of the site itself. The licence lasts while your listing does, plus the time it takes for caches and screenshots to catch up.

9. Moderation

We may hide, edit or remove any listing, stake or account that breaks these terms, and may suspend an account while we look into something. A suspended account’s stakes stop appearing on the globe; its history is not deleted. Where it is practical and lawful, we will tell you why.

10. Our own material

The site, its design, its code, the globe, and the saasworldmap name and marks belong to us and our licensors. These terms give you no licence to them beyond using the site as intended. Map geometry and country data come from open sources under their own licences.

11. Other people’s products

Every product on the map is somebody else’s. We do not vet, endorse or guarantee any of them, and a link from a country panel is not a recommendation. What happens between you and a product you find here is between you and them.

12. Availability

We would like the site to be up all the time and cannot promise it. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it, and may stop offering it altogether. If we shut the service down while paid stakes are running, we will give reasonable notice.

13. Disclaimers

The site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that a stake will bring you traffic, customers or attention of any kind.

Nothing here excludes any right you have as a consumer that cannot lawfully be excluded.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or lost business opportunity, however caused.

Our total liability arising out of or relating to the site is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or fifty US dollars.

15. Indemnity

You will indemnify us against any claim, loss or expense — including reasonable legal fees — arising from your use of the site, anything you list on it, or your breach of these terms or of anyone else’s rights.

16. Ending it

You may close your account at any time by writing to hello@saasworldmap.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that has been dormant for a long time. “What you let us show”, “Our own material”, and everything from “Disclaimers” onwards survive the end of this agreement, and closing an account does not refund a stake.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and a material change will be announced on the site or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after that is acceptance of the new version. If you do not accept it, close your account.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute — save that we may seek injunctive relief wherever necessary to protect the service.
